The Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) is proud to celebrate World Music Day 2026 with a nationwide programme of live performances, bringing musicians and communities together across Namibia.

This year’s celebration extends beyond Windhoek, with events taking place in eight locations throughout the country. From coastal towns to northern and southern regions, World Music Day continues its mission of making music accessible to all and creating shared cultural experiences through live performance.

On Saturday, 20 June, celebrations will take place in Otavi, Okahandja, Hardap Region, and Swakopmund, offering audiences the opportunity to enjoy a diverse range of musical performances in their local communities.

The festivities continue on Sunday, 21 June, with special events in Windhoek at The Village.

The final leg of the celebration will take place on Saturday, 27 June, with concerts in Rundu, Katima Mulilo, and at the FNCC in Windhoek, where Robin’s Private Music School will host a special fundraising concert as part of the World Music Day programme.

Since its creation in France in 1982, World Music Day has grown into a global celebration encouraging musicians of all backgrounds and genres to share their talent with the public. Through free and accessible performances, the event promotes cultural exchange, artistic expression, and community engagement.

Join us as we celebrate the universal language of music and bring communities together across Namibia.

Free entry.
