Dance(d) Conversation: Seasons of Life Are Seasons of Dance
Join Nikita Winkler and Namibian dance practitioner Trixi Munyama for an engaging conversation exploring how movement accompanies us through every stage of life.
The discussion will introduce Nikita's artistic practice, including Womb Stories, a collaborative performance project that transforms embodied experience into artistic expression through somatic practice, movement, ritual, and collective storytelling.
Together, they will reflect on the role of dance as a language for identity, memory, resilience, and transformation, followed by an opportunity for audience discussion.

About Nikita Winkler
Born in Namibia and based between Namibia and Spain, Nikita Winkler is a dancer, choreographer, somatic practitioner, women's circle facilitator, and educator.
Her interdisciplinary practice combines contemporary dance, embodiment, ritual, and community facilitation to create spaces where lived experience becomes creative expression. Whether you are a dancer, artist, or simply curious about movement and creativity, this two-day programme offers a unique opportunity to experience dance beyond the stage.
About Trixi Munyama
Trixi Munyama is a Namibian choreographer, performance maker, movement educator, and cultural practitioner whose work explores the relationship between embodied memory, oral history, and contemporary Namibian identity.
Born into Namibia's exile community in Angola, Trixi's artistic practice is grounded in the belief that movement can preserve and communicate stories that words alone cannot. Through dance, performance, and collaborative research, she explores themes of identity, belonging, resilience, and collective memory, creating spaces where personal and shared histories can be remembered, reimagined, and brought into dialogue with the present.
Her work has been presented across Africa and Europe, including at Theater Osnabrück (Germany), the South African State Theatre, Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen (Germany), Afrovibes Festival (Amsterdam), Kinani International Contemporary Dance Festival (Mozambique), and Africa Moment Barcelona (Spain).
As the founder of the Windhoek International Dance Festival and the Da-mâi Dance Ensemble, and a former Dance Lecturer at the College of the Arts, Trixi has played a pivotal role in shaping Namibia's contemporary dance landscape.
At the heart of her work is a commitment to using movement as a powerful means of connecting people—to themselves, to one another, and to the stories that shape who they are.
