The Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) welcomes an exciting musical collaboration connecting France, Tunisia and South Africa, as French-Tunisian multi-instrumentalist and producer Smadj joins Durban-based South African producer Dazz-B musiQ (Obakeng Kekana) for an immersive live performance in Windhoek.

A COLLABORATION ACROSS CONTINENTS

Through their collaboration with Durban-based label MK2R, Smadj and Dazz-B musiQ have developed an experimental musical language that blends Amapiano grooves, Oriental musical influences and electronic production.

Their creative work includes collaborative remixes of Madala Kunene, one of South Africa's celebrated musical figures, as well as an ongoing exploration of the musical world of Busi Mhlongo.

Together, the artists explore how different musical traditions can intersect, evolve and create something entirely new.

AN IMMERSIVE LIVE PERFORMANCE

On stage, Smadj and Dazz-B musiQ create an evolving live set that combines electric instruments, electronic machines and real-time improvisation.

Smadj's oud and acoustic textures meet Dazz-B musiQ's deep basslines and Amapiano rhythms, while electronic vocals, percussion and synthetic sounds contribute to a constantly shifting sonic landscape.

Moving between live electronic music and instrumental performance, the duo brings together their distinct musical identities in a spontaneous and immersive experience.

MEET THE ARTISTS

SMADJ

A French-Tunisian producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist, Smadj is known for his innovative approach to combining Oriental music with electronic sounds.

His international career includes performances across Europe and the Middle East, as well as collaborations with artists such as Dhafer Youssef, Erik Truffaz, Burhan Öçal and DuOud.

Through his mastery of the oud and his experimentation with electronic textures, Smadj creates a bridge between acoustic traditions and contemporary music.

DAZZ-B MUSIQ

Obakeng Kekana

Originally from Durban, South Africa, Dazz-B musiQ represents a new generation of South African Amapiano and Afro-house producers.

As part of the MK2R label, his work combines rhythmic energy, melodic production and atmospheric electronic sounds, reflecting the evolving landscape of African electronic music.

His collaboration with Smadj brings together South African rhythmic influences and a broader international approach to electronic music.
