Free entrance
The festival opens with an artist talk featuring members of Botswana's New Moon Dance Company — Larona Mmusi, Lorato Kgangyapelo and Ndumiso Nyoni.
The artists will share insights into their creative processes, experiences as dancers in Botswana and perspectives on the contemporary dance landscape in the country.
The conversation offers audiences an opportunity to engage directly with the artists and learn more about the ideas, practices and experiences behind their work.

COMMUNITY PERFORMANCE

Free entrance
On Friday, MOVEMENT moves into the community with a free contemporary dance performance in Katutura.
The programme features OYO Dance Troupe's latest creation, alongside Bias by New Moon Dance Company.
Bringing contemporary dance beyond the traditional theatre space, the community performance creates an opportunity for audiences to experience the work in a different setting and engage with contemporary dance in an accessible and shared environment.
24 OCTOBER
MAIN PERFORMANCE
18:00 | National Theatre of Namibia
The festival culminates with an evening of contemporary dance at the National Theatre of Namibia, bringing together works by Namibian artists and Botswana's New Moon Dance Company.
BIAS
Presented by New Moon Dance Company, Bias explores the tension between who we naturally are and who society expects us to become.
Through movement, the work examines pressure, identity, survival and the desire for freedom and self-expression.
ANGELIKA SCHROEDER
The main performance marks the return to the stage of renowned Namibian dancer Angelika Schroeder, presented by Kula Kreative.
KINA
Owela Live Arts presents a version of its acclaimed work Kina, featuring Justina Andreas.
ILLITHYIA GONE MAD
OYO Dance Troupe presents a new rendition of Illithyia Gone Mad, featuring Desmond Kamerika and Sydney Farao, both recipients of 2026 Namibia Theatre and Film Awards (NTFA) honours.
Together, the works offer an evening of diverse contemporary dance practices and perspectives from Namibia and Botswana.
ABOUT NEW MOON DANCE COMPANY
Based in Gaborone, Botswana, New Moon is a multimedia dance theatre company and artist collective founded in 2015 by transdisciplinary artist Moratiwa Molema.
The company works across stage and gallery spaces, combining contemporary and traditional dance, new media, music and event production to develop a distinctive Botswana dance language.
