Ciné-concert - Paris qui dort
Ciné-Concert at the FNCC: PARIS QUI DORT! with Stéphane Scharlé
In this captivating live performance, Scharlé brings to life René Clair’s 1924 silent sci-fi comedy Paris qui dort (Paris Asleep) with an original, modern score composed and performed on an augmented drum kit. Using loops, ambient sounds, and electronic effects, he transforms this surreal cinematic gem into a rich, sonic experience — blending improvisation, rhythm, and imagination.
As part of a regional tour spanning 8 cities in 4 countries, this project is not only a celebration of cinema and music but also a space for creative exchange. The Windhoek leg will include a collaborative component with local artists, reflecting the tour’s aim to foster artistic dialogue and skill-sharing across borders.
