This year's programme looks at culture as infrastructure and creativity as an economic resource, connecting creative practice with industry, enterprise, technology, investment and regional markets.

Across six days, KIFA WEEK will feature conversations, exhibitions, interactive sessions, masterclasses, forums and live performances, covering areas including audiovisual manufacturing, game design, film, theatre, music, intellectual property, creative careers, investment and media infrastructure.

CONNECTING CREATIVITY AND INDUSTRY

KIFA WEEK 2026 explores the practical connections between creative work and the industries, systems and markets that support its growth.

CURA AFRICA SESSION

The Cura Africa Session examines audiovisual manufacturing, technical skills development, regional production, AfCFTA trade and opportunities for greater participation in Africa's creative industries.

THE LUDIC ENGINE

The Ludic Engine is a game-design exhibition exploring the potential of games as tools for education, competency development, storytelling and systems thinking.

FILM CONNECT

Film Connect focuses on opportunities for collaboration within regional film markets, including SADC collaboration, co-production, equipment mobility and regional film networks.

The programme also addresses practical issues affecting the sustainability of creative careers, including intellectual property protection, professional practice, corporate investment, theatre mobility and creative-industry infrastructure.

LIVE CULTURAL EXPERIENCES

Alongside its industry and professional programme, KIFA WEEK offers audiences opportunities to experience contemporary Namibian creative expression through live cultural events.

The programme includes Windhoek Unplugged, Anatomy of Hunger and Afro Rockers Reggae, bringing music and performance into the broader conversation around creativity, culture and the economy.

These live experiences demonstrate the range of ways in which creative practice contributes to cultural participation, audience development and the wider creative ecosystem.

BUILDING REGIONAL CREATIVE CONNECTIONS

KIFA WEEK 2026 brings together practitioners, institutions, businesses and audiences from Namibia and the wider region, with a focus on strengthening connections across the Trans-Kalahari Corridor and the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

By combining skills development, cultural exchange, enterprise building and regional cooperation, KIFA WEEK creates a space to consider how the creative sector can contribute to economic participation, innovation and sustainable development.

From the artist and filmmaker to the entrepreneur, technician, designer and cultural institution, Impact Economy asks how creative practice can connect with the systems and opportunities that allow ideas to grow.
