Acoustic Friday with NaJah
NaJah — born Johanna Nangula Mavulu — is more than a musician; she is a vessel of tradition, a voice for her people, and a guardian of culture. Hailing from Windhoek, she blends ancestral rhythms with contemporary sounds, creating music that resonates with both the past and the present.
Her artistry extends across a wide range of instruments — from acoustic guitar and blues harmonica to marimba, mbira, djembe, ngoma drums, and the traditional bow instrument, the Uhadi. Every performance is a sacred exchange, preserving Namibia’s cultural heritage while breathing new life into it.
With more than a decade of experience, NaJah has graced Namibia’s most prestigious stages, including the Goethe-Institut’s Night Under the Stars (2024), the Otjomuise Live Arts Festival (2022), and the City of Windhoek Jazz Festival (2015 & 2023). Her debut album, Too Blessed to Stress (2022), is a soulful testament to her storytelling and artistic depth.
At Acoustic Friday, audiences can expect an intimate, soulful evening where music becomes more than entertainment — it becomes a journey of healing, unity, and celebration.
