A medical doctor, award-winning hip-hop artist, mother and creative visionary, Lioness has built a career that refuses to fit neatly into one box.

For two nights, audiences can experience her artistry in an intimate live setting at the FNCC.

FROM MUSIC TO MEDICINE — AND BACK AGAIN

Lioness first made her mark on the Namibian music scene in 2015 with her debut EP ILL3, introducing a distinctive blend of hip-hop, dancehall and Afrobeat alongside socially conscious lyrics and messages of empowerment.

Her career has taken her across the continent, including a landmark appearance on Coke Studio Africa in Nairobi, where she became the first Namibian hip-hop artist to perform on the pan-African platform.

Her body of work includes the album Wish You Were Here and the documentary If Not in This Life, while her contribution to African culture has also earned her the Icon to Africa award.

But music is only one part of her story.

Dr. Mwoombola is also a practicing medical doctor specialising in cosmetic and anti-ageing medicine. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she balanced the demands of a medical internship and frontline work with her career as a recording and performing artist.

Today, she continues to build her medical practice, raise her family and create selectively — demonstrating that creative and professional ambition do not have to exist separately.
